| I think it would be a good idea, it would start to bring out a professional side in archery. There's "professional" competitions such as the Las Vegas Open and the Cartel Classic 2007 already underway - but there's no lower level competitions trying to bring this in. Would it disagree with GNAS rules of shooting or something? I'm not sure either whether this would dissaude people who didn't think they had a chance of winning, entering. Finding sponsors, or creating divisions, would be a good way of overcoming this. I think archery will become a professional sport in the future, and perhaps this is a good way to begin along the road? |

| I can see the attraction to the top shooters in the country, however for the rest of us that shoot for classification, badges etc, i personally wouldn't pay extra so that the same few top level archers would win every time. However i do agree that the companies involved with archery should be forced somehow by FITA to put up prize money. At the end of the day these companies make a lot of money out of regular archers and the majority only sponser the elite archers in the world. Would it not be feesable for them to put back in through prize money. Ultimately that will increase the number of people coming into the sport whereas increasing the entry fee will only serve to drive people away...

| Higher entry fees would put me off entering. When you add up the cost of travel, accomodation and entry fees as they are, a weekend shoot costs me anywhere from £50 - £150.00! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Most definately. Although I would like to know where all the money in GNAS goes - from what I've heard the budgets are huge for development and coaching. Couldn't say a small amount of that be put into say the Premier Events? Or a certain number of competitions a year? |

| I'd only enter a higher-fee competition if I felt I was in with a chance of recouping some of the investment by way of prize money... If fees were increased across the board, I think many more shoots would be cancelled due to lack of interest.

| My entry fees alone were £129.75 this season (add Mrs.tel at £68.50) - plus travel x's. Probably minor compared to some but quite enough for us. Do I want to add 18 x £10 for me, and 13 x £10 (assuming per entry - if two day events half it! )for the guvnor so someone else can walk away with it? What do you reckon?Money for prizes instead of dog tags is maybe appealing to some - but let the tournament organiser decide up-front whether they are running a 'pro' style event or a 'for the glory' event, and let the archers decide which to attend.

| But what would happen the pro's only going for the money events and the rest on non money events ? where would the fun be in that? ![]() |
