AIUK Ironman Publicity

I think it mite ba a good idea to see if we could get some more positive publicity for our sport. I was thinking about asking a radio station down to the Ironman at Alyesbury and they could run a piece on archery and they could interview us and we could basically explain more about modern day archery and try to get more people involved. There have been talks about sponsorship and more public awareness of archery lately and I was thinking this mite ba a good idea. Does anyone else agree. If I get enough positive response I will enquire with the station.

I really can't see any journalists venturing out into a field the day before New Year's Eve, but what the hell, may be worth a try Although don't forget that the Ironman shoot isn't really going to be representitive of your standard* archery shoot

*(i.e. they have standards )

I thought it mite be a good idea. I know it aint a proper shoot but it shows the relaxed fun nd scocial side of Archery.
"you dont get this with football" is the pitch. No pun intended.

I think its a good idea although as others have said you may not get anybody turning up. One thing I would suggest is that you ensure its been OK'd with Chiltern Archery and Chiltern Archers who are playing hosts.

To be honest, we might as well try to get publicity for any and all of the functions going on, not just at Chiltern. Yes, it's publicising archery, but it also publicises AIUK across the country!

BBB makes a very valid point here. Prior to contating any media organisation I will sound out Martin.

BBB, could you speak to the powers that be at your club?
