In addition to all the good advice already posted, There are some? archers who call anything within a few millimetres of the custard, A TEN. ( or NINE if shooting Imperial rounds) Their attitude is that it is up to others on the target to object!!!!!!! Of course if there is noone to check, then anything goes?

Anyone have any ideas how we can resolve this? Everytime I observe this happening it makes me tense up, and it costs me points.

Here's to happy honest shooting, TOX.

Anything yellow, its my gold, it is what I aim for, see yellow make the shot. Happy with nines accept the odd red and get rewarded with more tens as your yellow count improves.

Perhaps this whole problem stems from miss use of "gold" on score sheets. For 10 zone scoring the sheet should realy show 10s (and Xs if required) not golds. As someone has already said the term gold is not used by FITA.
if the above was followed then "gold" would be as it says on the tin - the gold (yellow) bit of the target.

I have voted both because when you shoot indoors the gold will be the ten for recurve and compound

Then you have the outdoors where the whole of the gold is mainly listed as a gold lol

I see it as not really important! Gold is the colour on the target which helps you aim at the centre. If you shoot GNAS then the whole area is 9 and FITA as we know is split 9 and 10.

Why isn't there a silver and bronze seems like a good question?
