You should know that Brian - you're a long standing competitor and a coach Or was it just a test . Stu is spot on. I voted 10 only (since I presumed you were talking about 10-ring scoring!)

I voted "Both" as there is an X zone, a ten zone and a 9 zone in the same colour!

The way I understand it is on a metric its your 10 (recurve / compound)
on an Imperial round its all of the gold.

Actually an interesting question.

I voted ten as I was just thinking of Metric rounds. However, as some of the answers already given suggest, the question actually needs further clarification
as in

What scores a gold for a "six gold end" ( 9=Imperial, X,10,9=Metric)
or
What scores a gold in imperial rounds (9 for outdoor rounds, all bow types, Inner 10 for indoor rounds, compound bows, Inner 10 and Inner gold for indoor rounds , non compound bows))
or
What scores a gold in metric rounds. ( Inner 10 is recorded as an X and scores 10, Inner Gold is recoreded as a 10 and scores 10) Now as I understand it for metric competitions you have to counts the number of tens (including X's) and the number of X's for tiebreak purposes

So what is scored as a gold is dependent on the round being shot, the bow style and the archers objective.

Surely the answer is the highest scoring zone for the round (unless we are talking about 6 gold end awards, which are weird and I believe GNAS only).

This would cover
a. all the indoor rounds (not sure about Worcester), because the highest scoring is 10 (X's are recorded seperately on FITA rounds, but still score 10)
b. GNAS imperial rounds since the whole gold counts as 9
c. FITA rounds, since golds are only counted for 10's (see comment above about X's). I believe this is truem, but having re-read the Green book can not find anything that confirms it.
