Compounders - is the gold in focus at 90/70m?

I'm interested in how many people actually see the gold in focus at 90m (or 70m for ladies), ie can clearly see the 9/10 line and the X.

If you can, it would be good to know what peep and scope you use.

If you can't - join the club!

I think it is better to have a blurr than be totally clear and focussed as you will concentrate on the blurr and not the 3,4,or 5 arrows that you have just shot in the gold!
With your eyes as bad as they are i'm surprised you can see the boss at 90m without your glasses and when do you ever put 3,4 or 5 arrows in the gold.

only kidding! (you may be able to put 3 arrows in the gold)

I find my scope is always blurred at the longer distances but i'm happy enough to able to see any gold at all at 90m wheter its blurred or not.

The target is a blur for me at any distance, but I have just received a new scope (Titan Target, from EBay, only £35!). I'll give that a go and maybe try a clarifier peep.

I'd like to have the target in focus, just to see if I like it better!

Alex.

have always selected scope so target in focus at all distances. To this end on "normal" scopes I have kept the magnification down on lenses as I do not want to use a clarifier. My tru scope gives excellent clarity outdoors without a clarifier

I use Specialty Archery 1 3/8" NE scopes with 6x lens and a black dot. It's very clear without using a clarifier. I'll increase the peep size if it's particularly overcast or wet weather. I've experienced problems with clarifiers so don't use them.

I can't see the gold clear at 18m let alone 90m. Clearer is not necessarily better. People looking for stronger scopes and clearer peeps be wary of target panic.

what you see does not induce tagret panic it is what you think or want to see
many people change lenses etc as a cure for target panic this is just a band aid over a bigger problem.
similarly one scope mag is not anymore prone to target panic and punching than another

I've never had target panic. But I've seen enough people get the twitches because they insisted on a 6x lense when they hadn't gotten used to any magnification. All in the name of a clearer picture. Too much too soon makes for dirty little punchers and dirty little punchers makes for target panic.

your argument does not follow what I said was scope magnification does not make a puncher. If somebody lacks the understanding of the shot process to the degree that they are using clarity to overaim and execute the shot cognitiveley then they will punch. If someone uses a clear scope to help their point of visual and mental focus and understands about natural sway within the frame of any statinary athlete then they will not punch

I think that is fine in an ideal world, but many archers develop punching issues by going to a too strong a lens too fast.
