I would agree with this Archery is a very cheap sport to compete in. In a triathlon, an event I compete in when I am feeling fitter, the standard cost for a minor event is around £25. The sport is not doing itself any favours by pricing itself on the cheap. It does surprise me that for a full day it only costs £7 to compete in a York/Hereford. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Marcus - don't forget it's pounds not dollars, so $3.50 for lunch and $12 for entries. |

| Yeah I thought about that Shirt, and even that is dirt cheap by our standards. Also it's all relative isn't it? Average lunch for us is around $5-$7 and most events 1 day entry fee is $15-$20

| I dont know about many clubs catering costs etc, but we try to cover the materials and then round it up to a sensible amount, the cost of fuel must be the biggest daily expense for a shoot? But Marcus is right in that we are trying to present a 'professional' sport but on a very small budget. If you dont have to hire facilities then it is easier to keep the entrey fees down. |

| The kettle and an electric cooker are well used at shoots. The extra facilities would be wonderful but how to fund them? There seems to be a problem when appling for funding because Archery isnt a recognised sport? Any one had any experience of getting grants to improve club facilities! |

| As a recently appointed tournament organisor I would be interested in knowing what people would consider reasonable for tournament fees. Maybe worth having another poll. As far as a 'professional' image archery is a long way off that in the UK from the numerous events I have attended in my first year. This is not saying the events were not fun, but just a bit 'summer fete' in the way they are put together. Lots of delicious cake and tea (which my waistline can clearly show), but serious competition seems to be frowned upon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
