Now there's a thought!

You're an evil man John! I think I'll do just that! Shoot it barebow I mean. Which means that I'll now have to start learning how to shoot barebow! And I've recently started dabbling in field. All of which steals time from my first great love, target. And as I'm going to try for my BM this year (again) it's time I can ill afford to lose.

Well... at least it's a start.

So... last Thursday evening I had my first lesson in shooting barebow. Stripped all the gubbins off my bow and proclaimed myself a barebow archer. I was rubbish. Arrows went all over the place. I hit the target once, but it wasn't the one that I was aiming at. My main excuse is that I still had the platform attached to my tab and it prevented me from getting my anchor right. So this Thursday I'll take a platformless tab with me. So I'll have no excuse for being rubbish. That's if they allow me try barebow indoors again. Maybe if I promise not to demolish the place this time.

We have had a few PMs.

We have had a few PM's and alot were saying they are interested and to keep a spot open for them.
Can we ask those who are interested, to fill in a form and get it in to us, this will help us order the food etc and not run out.

There are 2 weeks left till this shoot, so time is getting short for organising the finer details

Thanks for your help

Sid

Unfortunately life and co has conspired against me so I won't be able to go to the Border shoot. There's always next year though.

Thats a shame. Hopefully we will see you next year then.

Turnout for all three days is lower than we had wished for, but the sat/sunday is closer to full.

first year we held this shoot, had a good turn out, but it was middle of the summer holidays.
2nd year, we didnt hold the 3rd day and attendance was good, considering the terrible weather we had.
this year we have choosen the 3 day just before the summer holidays, and we have had several people mention it.
Needless to say, there are some spaces on the all three days, and the days shooting will be:
3d targets day one.
Clout/ Moving targets day 2.
3D targets on the monday.

So if you cant make all three days but fancy a day or twos shooting just give us a call...

Well, that was amazing. As always, Team Border put on a superb event and were surrounded by smiling faces for their efforts.

I shot my new HEXV limbs around the course. So fast, such flat arrow flight. I think the only time I ever had to aim significantly higher was at the long Bison shot... well, and at the uphill clout flag

My girlfriend was nervous about her first field shoot, but after the very first target was grinning from ear to ear. She began talking about our next visit by the third target! Even better, she came away with the trophy for her classification: a walking stick with a head shaped from an old Border Black Reiver.

So, thanks again to Sid, Anne, Sid and their team (Helen Jean, Eric, Kay, Malcy etc.) for some great memories. See you all again soon
