not really, Not without a mountain of imagination and work. They dont have the hump in the belly side, and have the BD wedge to the limb butt. So a custom dovetail, hump, and adjustment bolt would be needed, and so would a good insurance cover incase it went wrong, as that was not the design intended for them, but i suppose it is possible.

I suppose they could be "Warfed" though?

But Remember, these are BD limbs and not tillered, any changes to the intended geometry, and we are not sure which way that would go, either backed off or more stressed we cannot be responsable for.

We are a manufacturer and have legal responsabilities. We can say what they are intended for, so you understand what we are offering, after that we take no responsability. They are just not economic for us to finnish off... but are to our standard of production.

Talking So Who got what?

Well i am now the proud owner of two ( I know greedy of me) Border bow blanks. I have a tx40 @60/65# and px10/30 @57/62, i don't know which one it is i was too excited to ask!! In fact "bow blanks" does not do justice to how far along these bows are. The tx40 is pretty much tillered it just needs tips , a handle shaping and maybe a little block build up for the handle if i go for a deep grip design. I will post pre butchery photos just in case i kill my new toy!!!

I have a few questions to the folks at Border if thats not too cheeky.

1. What is the wood in the riser of the tx40?
2. Does the back have any protective film on it? I can't seem to lift anything but i don't want to scratch too hard. And i dont want to glue on to a film if its there, that would be embarrassing!!!!!!.
3. What is the best way to clean the back surface to shiny and mark free? I was thinking super fine wire wool/ emery cloth.

I think I'll have the first one done for next weekend. It would be monday night if i did'nt have to work and be a " responsible" Father!
So back to the original reason for the post Who got what? And are you as childishly gleeful as i am?

1&2) Erm... I think it might be coco, didnt pay attention...if you stick up a photo, i'll be able to confirm. I remember one was... The TX40 is the grey looking one, and it just needs a light rub with light sandpaper, as you say, steel wool or something like it, you need to key it, so that paint will stick to it.
2)There shouldnt be any protective film on them, The material to protect the formers, should have been removed as it was blue.

They will need a little work on the tiller, we take them to that stage to work out what weight they will make. So they might be a little out of balance, or a little off line.

Post photos and have fun.

Old bows

Sid,
Just joined the forums

And found this thread and I am rather interested - could the limbs be made to fit a Marksman KG1 riser?

From what I have seen, the limb mounting is somewhat similar to the mounting for the TD recurves like the douglas (i.e. not ILF)

I would be looking for a longer limb at about 36-40 lb if possible

Here it is!

One Border Elite crafted/butchered by me! I am so pleased with it ( warts and all!) It is monsterously fast , light in the hand and really easy to shoot.
Thanks very much Border !!!!!

And I've still got another one to go !
