Stock Clearance/Home projects

We have some stock limbs that are not tillered, These are the old XP30 and XP10 models.

These limbs are full spec and of different lbs, cores, and vaneers.

We are keen to sell them on at nominal costs to anyone wanting a home project.

We have about 20 pairs that need shifting!

Get intouch if you fancy a try at tillering a set of limbs, the limb butts are still all square, so they, in theory, and skills dependent, could fit quite a few riser types!
Some have Black Douglas/Mirage fittings in them...

We are talking £25 pounds a pair! Plus postage, incase there are some readers from very far afield!

I wish I knew what you were talking about, then I might have an idea of what was involved.

you would need to decide there you wanted the grip, where you wanted the window, and get a pencil out, sketch it out on the riser, and get rasping. once you have the riser shape you want, and the bow shape you want, then you can start taking in the limbs to a set width. Then the steps would involve, making the limbs pull straight, making them in balance, and making them to the approx weight we have predicted/ weight you wanted. This is the juggling act involved in tillering a bow. These are recurves which are a little harder than flatbows, and longbows, as the recurve action can change the straighness though the draw cycle. This is a opertunity for a experienced "tillerer" to try something a little different, or someone who knows the theory, but wants a bash. The limbs will fit most trad bows with a little wood working skills, then the tillering process needs to take place!.

The limbs are mostly 1.75 inches in width, for the entire length, from tip to limb butt.

Thats enough for me to know its beyond my skills - I'm not an idiot as far as using tools is concerned, but this is specialist territory!

Message sent

Hi Sid,
I sent you an email about these items.

I'm also trying to find some info/pic's on those Elites, so if anyone can help me out, I'd sure appreciate it, as I don't know that model.

Thanks Much,
Marc

Welcome to the forum. The usual greeting is to offer some

I cant think of any pitcures on the internet that i can advise you to go to.

We did make 3, 7" long, scaled models of them for the Pervious owner as a leaving present, and one for a dealer, they had string grooves and everything. We have one left glued up and not shaped out, but that one is not for sale.

But i suppose its a bit like the Martin dreamcatcher in appearance for use of a example. Slightly longer riser than the current Reiver.
I'll see if i can get a photo and post it of both finished, and the blank, but it will be mid week by the time i get to it?

Sid

Elites and limbs

OK Sid that sounds good.

I'm very interested in both the Elites and/or some limbs (may get both if they're in my spec's), so if you get a chance, take a look at my email, and let me know what you have.

Thanks Much,
Marc

Sid:
Would these limbs be suitable to use with ILF mounting?
