Question Border Talisman Gold TX40 Limbs?

Hey everyone,

Got myself an old set of Border Talisman Gold TX40 limbs, savage preformance, amazing speed and realy nice to shoot with! But mine are just a bit long in the tooth. My question here is are Border still making them? If so how much would a new set be? If not where can i get a second hand set in good condition?

p.s. Woo first post!

Or speek to them here on AIUK they are always available and will give you lots of help and advice.

If you send them an email they are pretty snowed under at present with emails so this forum is the best way to contact them for the next few weeks.

Welcome to the forum

The TX40 limb had (if I remember correctly) a similar profile to the previous ML2 limb, but had different laminates to make it more stable. The TXG limb was essentially the same limb with some changes to make it a little quicker. Border has recently started using a different laminate in all their limbs, CXC, which is lighter and even more torsionally rigid.

I'm sure Sid will be along soon enough to answer more technical questions if you have any

Like everyone said...

Sorry for the not being around the last couple of days.
The TXG is the modern replacement to the TXG. We have droped the TXS, but the idea in our limbs now sit with two cores. Wood or our Hyperflex core. OUr Hyperflex core is not a foam. It has a primary design requirement to be temperature stable. Which is the same core as your TX40 Golds.

We then have 3 limb shapes. The TX, Which is what you have, The Hex4 (High Energy eXpress) and its newer brother the Hex5. These two limbs are faster than our TX series.

The Laminate in your Golds, is our inhouse TX40 Laminate. We are now making our limbs with our CXC laminate which is lighter in mass and has more torsional resistance in it. This should make them a bit faster and a bit more stable thanwhat you currently shoot. This is a subtle change, as the limbs are light in mass and have the same recurve shape. If you wanted something that feels a bit different then the Hex limbs are the better option, if you fancied something similar but a bit improved then the TXG is the limb.

Send my dad, Also Sid, an email and he can tell you the prices. We do trade-in's on border limbs, or we could refinish them if you wanted to keep them as a backup set...

The TXB is a Very compitent Limb. many of our customers claim its faster than the likes of the G3.
The TXG is the fastest of the TX type.

The Hex4 - W is about the same speed maybe a tad faster than the TXG
The Hex4 - H is faster again.

The hex5-W is a tad faster than the Hex4-H
And the Hex5 - H is the fastest.

We do a VX option which increases the stability on any of these limbs. It should add a fraction of speed to them as well.
