Elite questions

I've nearly finished my lovely elite. I just have a few questions!

What is the recommended brace height for a 60" td40 version?

Will i have to seal the limbs with something (varnish/paint) and what do you recommend ( or what must i NOT use)?

I'd like to spray the limbs with some colour. What can i use?
I'll post some photos at the week end when i've done some more of the cosmetic stuff.

The handle is pretty much done. The limbs are as matched as i can get them at the mo. The tip over lays are done. The arrow shelf comes out tonight. Should be sootable by Friday!!!!!!!

Brace height is 7.5-8"

any car paint system should be fine. and yes you can paint the limbs. We use a 2 part epoxy varnish for our finnish, and apply about 5 coats, depending on model

Hope that helps

two part epoxy varnish.

Hi Sid,
A Couple more question if thats ok?
I,m all cool with the painting side, but can you recommend a brand (or2 ) of two part epoxy varnish and is it difficult to use ( and get a nice finish) or could i get away with a spray poly u varnish. Is the epoxy the same stuff boat builders use ( most of the google links seem to be for hobby boat builders.)

Many thanks in advance.
Martin

You can use a celulose or Poly varnish. You need a good coat or 2, but if it is not elastic enough it will crack as the bow is drawn/and the paint gets older. So many thin layers are better than one thick coat.
