| two things.. Ive made a copy of this thread and added it to the 3D and field section...
you might get more/different answers over there...
The next one, is the limits you will face in the categories which that kit selection gives you in UK competitions, are quite restricting, and the competition rules are there for a good reason on one hand, and bad in another.
that aside. we try to look at kit in a more open mind on our 3d course. We dont/should not sign up to a orgainisation as a manufacturer, so we have our own rules/ own scoring. Carbon arrows do have different shooting traits, one is they can bounce off trees with less ill effect... Its also possible to build up the areas of weakness, like adding aluminium collars (from the right size alu arrow) round either end to stop the tube fibers from coming loose with vibration from hitting the target alot.
The next benefit is that they dont snap at the point as easily if you hit a stone if you use good long inserts with good long glue joints. We think they last longer as they dont suffer from the bending of aluminium, nor the fragile nature of woodies.
Still, they are not inkeeping with trad archery...
Dont know where that leads to... |
