| Riser dimensions In an Attempt to clarify what a riser feels like id like to ask a few questions for feedback.
What id like to see is a small database of riser measurments. so that if your looking for a neutral weight, or one with more delfex, then you can compair what you have with others and see what you can try...
If you have a riser thats not listed in a post here, then feel free to add it.
In short, we can compile a list of risers so that people can make a informed idea as to what riser to try next. (I want one more like Bla-Bla, as i think it might be better for me. rather than having to try all of them)
All Naked risers. no pungers/ stabilisers ect.
I'll explain how to measure each of these.
The numbers equate to each measurment below.
1)Centre of the limb bolt of the respective limb end, to the front of the arrow shelf. (in mm)
This will approximatly measure if the riser has a high grip location or low. Meaning it effects how you like to hold the grip.
2)Put your finger in the throat of the grip and balance the riser. either top heavy of bottom heavy.
this will effect how the bow feels when your holding it without drawing it.
This also has a small feeling change durning the shot cycle. This is also effected by the postion of the grip. but its another issue to measure.
3)Mass of riser (grams)
Heavy riser/light riser is one that has many opinions.
4) Draw an imaginery straight line from the end of each limb pocket (say with a ruler)This is the end of the face that the limb sits on, and measure the distance from the front of the riser at the grip to this line. (in mm)
This will effect the stability of the bow. the bigger this measurement is, the more stable the bow should be, the less it is, the more stress the bow is under, the more performance you will get in your arrow. (In a basic form)
The depth of the grip also plays with this so some people have added to the front of the riser and to the throat of the grip.
5)Centre of limb bolt to centre of limb bolt. (in mm)
This will show the kind of fit the riser has to its limbs. The closer the bolt is to the dovetail without displacing the detent out of its position the tighter the limb fit will be. riser with larger than most will be tighter.

Make/Model
1)Measurment to the top of the arrow shelf:
a)top:
b)Bottom:
2)Centre of Gravity:
3)Weight
4)Deflex of riser
5) Centre to centre
If any one measures their riser differently to the measurements given, then please ask for a re-measurement by way of a new post.
Hope this sounds like fun... and a good common resource for all
