| Like the Carlsberg ad, "probably the best Hoyt riser ever made!!" I sold a left handed black one to a mate with the promise that if he ever wanted to sell it I'd get first option!! |

| Thank you all for the posts but I haven't any offer. It will be easy to find a Hoyt Elan? |

| elan may be easier to find, but honestly, i haven't heard/seen people selling their elans (ebay and generally online), apparently (i've yet to find out - i had to buy a matrix to find out, and haven't got my mitts on it yet - need to go visit linecutter archery) the matrix is similar in feel to the elan and radian - a snappy feel to the shot.and as matrices aren't being produced anymore, you could get one reasonably cheaply

| I've got an Elan and a Helix, but haven't managed to wean myself off the Elan and onto the Helix yet... The Elan was my first bow, and got me to Bowman. I just don't seem able to break the emotional tie! ![]() | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Interesting that people think the Elan and Radian feel similar. I personally think they're like chalk and cheese. The Radian was very stiff and the Elan was bordline soft. If you can get the Radian setup well it is a peach of a bow (after bining or modifying the grip that is). It was never really designed properly and was a stop gap to plug the gap left by disgruntled Avalon owners. Radian profile(ish) stick some apple shaped holes in it, get rid of the machining work that made the Radian expensive to make and bung an Avalon grip on it Having said that for a Bull Mastif/collie cross it turned out pretty well. I had two Elans - never really got on with either Sold one and my wife took a liking to the second. Anyone prepared to pay silly money for a green/black/silver elan could probably have it If you do go for an Elan I'd avoid ebay: a lot of the early risers were quite badly twisted and it could making tuning impossible. No limb alignment system of course. HTH Stretch |
