| Hiya, I have just applied for my GNAS (still waiting for my details) through my local club and I was wondering how you start going for the classes. Far as I have found out you need to do a certain points with so many arrows but I just cannot seems to find any info about it. Can anyone help please? Thanks Doomie |

| No problemo. You will need the GNAS rules of shooting. Pick a round to shoot, then shoot it. The rules of shooting have tables that show what scores you must achieve to gain that classification. After you get 3 third class scores (or better) you are a 3rd class archer ![]() For example if you shot a short national, you would need to score 403 for a third class score. Kae. |

| Are you in a club? Does your club shoot rounds?? Shoot 3 rounds for a classification ( if the score is high enough)

| Tables of all the rounds as well as classification levels can be found at http://www.archers-docs.co.uk/ just click on 'Other Useful Docs' in the left hand column. ![]()

| The definitive answer, of course, is - GNAS website Documents Shooting Admin Procedures (NOT the rules of shooting) This explains the classification scheme. Any archer wishing to compete should make themselves aware of the rules and procedures.

| I found these very useful as a novice. These spread sheets contain all the information you'll need to demystify the classifications - the names of rounds, the distances and the number of arrows as well as the miniumum scores required for each classification. http://www.archers-docs.co.uk/useful_docs.htm

| Good spreadsheets on there. The quickest way to third class will be shooting Warwicks, as they are only 4 doz. A "Short Warwick" (2doz at 50y and 2doz at 40y) will get you to third class and the "Warwick" (2doz at 60y and 2doz at 50y) will also get you to second class.
