Cumbria Outdoor County Championships

Cockermouth Company of Archers had a grand day out at our county championships. The weather was horrible and I even wanted to go home after the first two dozen arrows of a two day shoot. I think only one senior gentleman compound archer managed to break 2000 points.

1st Lady recurve (County and Open) -ME I am not telling you my score, it was so bad.
1st Junior Boy U12 - Daniel (My son, and the trophy is huge)
2nd Junior Boy U16 - Josh
3rd Junior Boy U14 - Sam

Raffle Prizes - SIX

Not bad for a team of two senior and four junior archers.
We were all wearing our club colours for the first time and they looked good.

Ok so a senior didn't get a trophy (what's new) but what about the poor remaining junior.

I hope you have a big space on the shelves for your son's trophy
He put mine to the sides of the shelf and put his in pride of place in the middle.
He is so happy that his trophy is bigger than anything I ever got AND even better it looks just like the Tri Wizard Cup.

I got the impression that every junior shooting got a prize except our one junior archer, who was shooting barebow, at the correct distances for his age group (U14) ...... I will be having words with the organiser if this it true. The junior had to go as soon as the last arrow was shot as he had to get back home for a music lesson, so he does not realise this.

I think he did well to go the distance under awful weather conditions for his first outdoor shoot. He will be getting some good JAWS points that is for sure.
