Trev done good

A round of applause please for my mate Watch_man who won the compound long national today at Pilgrim bowmen of bostons Jack oliver memorial shoot. He is one of the nicest guys I know in or out of archery and its about time he pinched some shelf space back from archery_mum
Also congratulations to the other Friskney bowmen who won today
Wendy (archery_mum) ladies compound
Ellen, junior girls recurve
Daniel (the compound kid) junior boys compound
and Paul (recurve_paul) 3rd gents recurve
They all deserve lots of and some after the wind and rain they shot in today

Damn, WM actually had a bow in his hand, and I missed it. Sure it wasnt the IPod long national? Got any photos as proof?

Cheers everyone - I had to shoot as there was no burger van and Wendy hid my poddy whotsit thingy MP3

I was actually in the York but I suffered from the 'Ghost of Pilgrim Bowmen' which causes a very high rate of equipment failure. I had 2 failures in my first 3 arrows - never having one before. I elected to retire and shoot with the Long National guys in the afternoon. Good job young Rory recovered my arrows for me as I wandered off forgetting I had managed to shoot one at the target and one into the ground.

Again the ghost struck and I lost a point and then had equipment failure on my last 3 arrows. One of the guys on the next target had a release aid failure in the morning, another had the doinker weight thingy snap in half, a lady compound had problems with her peep, another guy had problems with his nocks on all his arrows (never having had a problem with them before) and there were several other minor equipment failures - including english_archer having a problem with his nock point (I think that was it Craig? when you came for the superglue? I know you mentioned nock. But I think yours was relatively minor)

Sorry to let the side down and win something, I won't try as hard next time

On the winners list, just to add to the ones Craig mentioned, we also had a win in the gents longbow - well done Alan.

From other clubs it was good to see Graham Crampin on good form and Rory Campbell shooting well without his 'waterproof' spotting scope - which I think was made out of blotting paper from what he was telling us

The Jack Oliver was well attended and despite the heavy rain it was a good laugh. I better congratulate archery_mum for her 1258 Hereford - not as good as her last score but she is getting on a bit
