Smile "That's my boy"!!!

What an acheivement made over the last couple of months.
During the July Nationals for my son Alex he obtained his 6 GOLD END at 40 yrds and then for several shoots afterwards managed to do it again the following week in a club shoot.
His other goal this season (his second full outdoor) was to acheive 1100+ for a Bristol 3 (just gone up this season) and did so at a club shoot. Despite the Berks squad being cancelled for the SCAS at the weekend, we managed to squeeze in to the Bucks County Champs and he shot 1118 for the Bristol 3, first visitor and also a Red Rose award to boot....whooo, hoo

We thought it was going to be a double whammy on the Rose awards with Dad also shooting a York at Bucks, but with two disasterous ends where string got caught up, it was not to be...he was well on the way for his first badge and a PB, perhaps next time.

Congratulations and a fantastic score! How long did you have to wait for the results on the day?

Not long....within 40 minutes of finishing, enough time to sink a pint and take in the raffle.
(I hasten to add that was for mum and dad, Alex had to make do with a J2o)

Last year it was nearly two hours sat in the cold! Several members of our club refused to go this year and that was one of the reasons. They may have moved into the twenty first century brilliant.

Don't know if things have changed, but they were taking scores off from the end of two dozens, but it was all done by hand.

Thought it was a bit quiet, as it wasn't the usual Westcott band there. Two targets weren't being used and John was moved up targets as he would have been the only one shooting on it, to join another archer to make two shooting on that!! I think also the weather in the morning played it's part as quite a few adults did not show.

Great news, he was disapointed that the other was cancelled, especially as the week before he had shot 1104 for a Bristol 3 and was hoping to capitalize on it....which he did at the Bucks Champs.

We have not entered as we already had other plans. But we are shooting the double American at Holdens Archers tomorrow (Bank Holiday). John and Alex shooting the American and Wills is doing their double Hatfield for the juniors.
Looking forward to a great days shooting.
