I'm over the moon, I shot my first round yesterday at 1st class level.
For the last few sessions I've been shooting rounds at the Western/American/National level to make sure that I had 3 submitted scores at 2nd class and for these I was convinced that I was shooting at a level below an equivalent 1st class score.
Yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and shoot a Long National having set up sight marks for 80 yards the previous weekend. Boy was I glad I did.
The weather was fantastic. Just a very light breath of breeze, bright sunshine with a few wisps of cloud.
Things started well and I finished the 80 yard distance with good ends of 9,9,7,7,5,5 on both of the last two ends.
And things kept going for the 60 yard section too. I finished the round on 462 and when BowBuddy popped up telling me that I had got a 1st class score I was elated. When I later checked that the required score for 1st class is 418 I was even more happy.
A great day. Just two more to go before Christmas!
