| New FITA 18 pb. New FITA 18 pb. Dont know if it's the new bow or if it's me having a good patch (or just pure luck) but at the Whitburn combined Fita I improved my FITA 18 by eight points to score 575. Now Whitburn is the 12th tournament I've shot in this indoor season and I've managed to win the other 11 although I have to say that in the other tournaments non of the other competitors were in the top ten indoor shots. Anyway when we rolled into the liesure centre car park guess who we saw getting out of their car? yes.. Lana and Simon Needam plus the whole of the Scottish squad. Was I downhearted? er...yes!, er...no!! now was the chance to prove myself. Well it has to be said that Simon is a bit (no make that a lot) of a hero of mine I consider him to be the best male recurve archer Britain has produced for many years and he realy is a very nice guy, more than willing to help and give advice to anyone. Well you can guess the result, I came second!! but I enjoyed this tournament more than most of the others because I made a pb, broke a county record and most important I only finished one point behind my hero in the 18m round.

| Right on, SH. I was on the same target as the ladies recurve winner, Emma Downie, a young lady I have always admired.................. for her shooting. She inspired me to 3 PB's, and I still shot like a p!££*(k. Mick
