| It's nice to shoot rounds. It puts you in touch with the others in a way that is difficult to explain, but I think it will make sense to you. I am pleased that you posted your score on this forum;good on yer! What really caught my attention was your remark, " Far more to learn than I thought possible," I hear this very often; nearly every beginner says it. It is true but..... Try to remember that what you learn about archery is not the same as what you need to learn to shoot well. Some people have a vast knowledge of archery. Some archers who are only six years old, know very little about it but they shoot very well. Enjoy it! Geoff |

| My first short metric was 484. The 2nd last was 508, some 6 months later. If you improve, you are getting better. Keep it up. |

| It was a bit of a Harrowing Sighter session though, You missed that Bit out .Took a Metal detector to find one of my arrows which was completely buried. Should be a Fonzy I think. Ill let you elaborate ![]()

| My best short metric is ominously 666. Always knew I had the devil in me!

| Sighters? Us? Ah yes, the sighter session. At a mere 50m. The way it should be. Only, we all missed with our six. OK, I'm new and had new arrows and was kinda expecting six full sighters so wasn't too suprised. But then you missed too, which, with all due respect, was out of character. And indeed our scorer, an experienced archer, also missed many more than hit. Intriguingly, when we checked the distances a second, third and fourth time and then moved the boss to 50m, rather than the 60m we had been shooting, I felt a lot happier. And hit the target. Had we also got away with surreptitiously moving a bos forward by 10m in full site of the club coach and the largest beginners course for some time, by all accounts, I'd have been even happier. But as all the other targets were also out by 10m so we had to somehow move them forward as well. This was noticed. Hey ho. Last edited by Shannow; 25-04-06 at 09:58 PM. Reason: Dramatic effect |
