Lots of Stars At the Scottish Champs

I had mixed results at the Scottish Championships, with a very good Saturday and a PB 1223 for my 1200 star. Sunday I didn't shoot nearly as well and was about 50 points down on Saturday. However I did get a 6 gold end at 70M for the first time in a FITA competition:

I noticed lots of names on the star claim form on Sunday, including young Calum Lennon who was shooting the ladies FITA. Also Gordon Brown and Ian Bolton from Kingdom Archers (one of the many clubs of which I am a member ). My wife made a significant improvement in her personal best and picked up an 1100 star with 1163.

A fantastic weekend and much to the Glasgow Club for organisation and for providing the nice foam bosses that didn't need three people to pull each arrow!

Well done again to Mike and Maxine. In particular for the six gold end. I have never managed that, even in practice.
I enjoyed the weekend, even the rain on Sunday wasn't too bad. Cal was chuffed with his 1100 claim for Saturday, he dropped to 1067 on Sunday, wanted to know if he could claim his 1000 badge for that, - no!!!

I got my first MB score on saturday, was really pleased. Not so good a sunday but still 1148, definitely deserved that glass of wine last night.

My biggest problem over the weekend was trying to rush to the loos as I was on the furthest away target from them. Bit difficult at the shorter distances. Downside of it being hot and drinking a lot.

Well done Liz! Now you've got that first MB score hopefully you can get two more before we go indoors.

And of course, special congrats to Mike on making onto the Recurve leader board... very impressive, since he was shooting his compound at the time

Well done again Liz on the MB. You and Hazel are soaring, Peter and I are struggling... what does that tell you?? it's not fair!! And big congrats to Calum of course - he's going to overtake all of us soon, I'm sure.

And I didn't even notice! Hmmm, not sure it is very impressive though....

I'm sure the day will come when I'll be joining you and Peter wondering why we aren't doing as well as our wives...
