Newbie wins out!!

Hello folks,
Remember me?? I am the mad woman from Germany who was going to buy a bow and learn to shoot alone in a field with a book.
Well here's for an update. I did it - except that by chance not alone. I discovered another Brit here who has shot (Arched??) for the Air Force who is keen to put together a stable club. Stable in that military folk move around a lot and without local people like me to keep things going clubs tend to fold.

I got a second hand but very good condition Hoyt GM from ebay with Win&Win Froma limbs and all the rest of the kit from a lady approximately my size who was moving on.
I shot my first arrows today in the rain.
What a blast!

I have comitted to training to become an instructor and being part of the training team for the club that we will be forming here. I shall keep you posted as to details as we move forward.
I wanted to post this as inspiration for all hopefuls and wannabes out there with no clear path forward. With enough determination and just a tad of good fortune you can make anything happen.

Just got to get one in that yellow bit now...

Thank you everyone especially Steve for the help and advice that was offered in January.
Julia

Talking Welcome to the world of archery with the forces

Hi, I was member of forces for 24 years and I know how it is in clubs that move every few years. and with out the stable members clubs tend to fold and be left in the past.

good luck

Bandit
