But does there come a time Or a frame of mind -when shooting anything but "your expected score" becomes almost impossible.

I have to ask because I shot 'Awful' last night, a blood blister under the pad of my index finger was giving me one hell of a ride and ruining my release - but still made well over a first class score, my usual score in fact.

Honestly- sounds like im bigging it up (wish I had cause to) but it does seem to me that IF you can become comfortable - knowing that you CAN shoot at any particular level - then you likely WILL shoot that level.

I guess the proof will be seeing the "1/3rd of the way club" get those shiny badges really soon.

I just need one BM score to know I can do it- and then I'll never shoot less...right????

There's your mistake! Never expect a score, just shoot. I find when I forget all expectations, I shoot much better.

I think you can reach a place where you shoot to a certain standard even on a bad day.. I'll let you know when I do!!

Sorry fellow 1/3 of the way club members but I just had to have another go at a 70 FITA this afternoon. I have been thinking about it all day at work and couldn’t wait to get down to the club, there were seven of us all shooting at 70m tonight. I managed a 488 so now joining the 2/3 of the way club. Just one more good shoot and that shiny new badge is mine.
