Drawing Elbow

Shooting using a palm release, it just occured to me, should the drawing elbow be away from the body or tight to the body? Tight to the body allows the back of the hand to rest against the cheek quite snugly, whereas away from the body means the back of the hand is fairly loose, if touching at all. Tight to the body appears to bring both shoulders in line. What do you think?
Hope this helps my grouping to improve, coz, boy does it need it!!

Your hand needs to be against the side of the head where you can use part of your head as a contact point. Whether it be your little finger behind your ear or your thumb. This means that every time you draw the bow your hand goes to the same position every time and therefore you have consistancey for every shot.

Alba, bringing the elbow round until your draw hand touches your face, also brings the string line round where you can see it.You need to know where the string is in order to help with left/ right direction of the shots. Resting the hand on part of the face makes that part of the shot steadier and, as you say, brings the shoulders into a better line.

drawing

At predraw your release will be just about horizontal as u draw ur hand should rotate so that at full draw the back of ur hand is facing ur face (not necessarily vertical), It is v important that ur anchor is on ur jaw bone, anchoring on soft tissue (around ear or neck) will not give the same concistency I anchor so that my index and middle finger straddles my jaw

Behind the ear is a very good anchor its one point of contact, move your head and you still have that one point. Anchoring along your jaw line and moving your head you will see that the anchor point is about 3 inches long, not ideal for consistancey.
