Merlin TM5

I might soon be able to buy a new compound bow, but don't want to spend a huge amount since recurve will remain my thing.

The Merlin TM5 is in the price range I'm thinking of, and certainly looks the part. Anyone know much about it?

Thanks Stu! I'll probably come down in the second half of July, when hopefully I'll have a bit of time off work. Cheers!

A friend at our club bought one recently; it was his first compound.
He started shooting with it and within a day or two he was so good I had to coach him, to get his scores down below mine!

The TM5 is a great bow at a great price, if you would like to come and try one, just give us a little bit of notice and a general draw weight/length you would like to try and we can sort it out for you.
We don't bite - if you decide that it is not for you then you don't have to buy, we won't expect you to buy anything that is not right for you.
Stu, everybody spits Chris's coffee out.

The TM5 is one of a long line of TM's, and don't forget TM's have won gold at EFAC/WFAC, among many other titles. It is a good reliable bow, and cabable of high scores. Stable in tuning, and if you read the posts about other makes limbs popping out, bolts stripping, well it aint going to happen on a Merlin! If you want a "take out of the bag, shoot a round, and go home" bow, The TM is your bow.

STU, If the old Codger is in the office, can you tell him Phil, And Mick Houghton are trying to arrange an afternoon to pop over and see him. Give you and Ben a break from aged parent sitting. As for the TM Stu, if Mick bought his old TM2 to the practice range, he would make you sweat, even with your XV.

Hur hur new toy!

Lean, light, purposeful and crispylicious! Expertly set up by Stu369 (despite Doofus here getting his own draw length wrong ). Been playing with it this evening and I'm amazed at how much better it suits me than the Hoyt Aspen. The Aspen's a great bow, but the TM5 is spot-on. If any bow can tempt me from the path of recurve righteousness, it's this one.

It was great to visit Merlin Archery Centre too (when I finally found it - the AA directions had me driving into Quorn. Merlin is BEFORE One Ash roundabout when coming out of Loughborough). Very impressive place packed with good stuff and staffed with top people.
