Best arrow rest

Hi there,

A friend of mine have a Bowtech Tribute, and he's using a Nap QuickTune 1000 rest, and want to upgrade. He was thinking on the Spot Hogg Whammy, but he wants some opinipns on rests that costs 50£ +/-....and preferably that is sold on Alt Services.

Listen and listen carefully from experience. There is no such thing as a better rest or an upgraded rest.

What you want is a reliable rest and an easy rest to set up. Once set up, you dont touch it again. Believe it or not, one of the best rests which is also very cheap is the Trophy Taker. You cant go wrong. Spending a lot of money on the most expensive rest is not the way to go. Believe me. I think there are a couple of threads about this, read them and youll see.

The Whammy works, but be careful, as it won't work on all bows.

It won't fit my UltraElite because it sticks out so far backwards it interferes with the Tec bracing -this could be a problem on any Hoyt Tec-type riser.

It won't fit my Merlin XV, as the cable guard is too low and won't allow the up-down-up movement of the trigger you need.

It does fit my Mathews Conquest 4 and works well. In fact, if you look at the Spot Hogg blurb it is pretty clear they were aiming for the Mathews market when they designed the thing.

Good luck!

Definately agree.

Although if you really want something different to the World's Best Rest () (aka Trophy Taker Spring Steel) I've got a GK Platinum Premier for sale, just as soon as I get back from hols next week it'll be going on the Archers Mart section!

Trophy Taker every time!!
No springs, washers, string, rubber bands, tiny allen bolts or bendy wire bits to go wrong or fall off.
Its simple and built like a brick outhouse!!
Fit and forget.

iscap boy. you did not mention one thing, will you be using a release aid or are you a finger shooter,as the trophy taker will be totally useless if you are shooting with fingers, and just to confirm they are an excellent rest for the using with a release,
