Matthews Conquest 4 vs. Conquest Apex 7

Both bows seem to have very similar ratings. Seems that the only major difference is the additional vibration dampers. Would these gizmos add leaps and bounds to the shooting expereince? Or Should the 4 shoot as well as the 7 when handled by a seasoned archer? Price difference between the two is significant enough for me to seek the wisdom of those in the know before breaking the piggy bank. Your thoughts please!

The Conquest 4 is 10 fps slower (IBO) and is 3 inches longer axle to axle and is available with three different cams. The Conquest Apex 7 has a cable roller guide It's the Prestige that has the string dampers.
There is a thing going round that a quieter bow is a better bow. That may be the case for hunting but as far as I am concerned targets are deaf as a post. Shoot the bows and see which one you are more comfortable with. If you get a chance try the Ovation as well Its slower at 300 fps (IBO), but smoother.

I personally prefer the Apex 7 over of the C4, I think it is a better bow. Shorter and faster.
I didn't like the Ovation personally.

I have shot a Conquest 2 for a few months and it is quite fast. I think that the longer axle to axle is a little more forgiving, as is a higher brace. If you can shoot both of them before you decide. Shoot anything you can before you decide. It may save you some expense.

One thing you should be aware of, is the "cable/string, roller rod/gaurd",on the Apex 7, bends or even breaks!
You will not notice the bend in the roller gaurd until your serving starts to wear.
On my Apex 7, it bent,to such an extent that the string hit the circlip and flipped it off.
I know of another archer whose guard snapped, between the second and third suppresser.
If you approach your dealer, they should replace it FOC (Clickers did this without any problem) with a "modified roller gaurd" (from Mathews)that has only 2 suppressers, not three.
It seems that Mathews have a problem with the Apex 7, but they are not Publicising it.
so I would suggest all Apex 7 users check their bows!!!
