Golden Premier Rest

Hi i and shooting with a Golden Premier rest and decided to put my two prong launcher
on instead of the brass one because i keep getting my fletching marked on the launcher nomatter what i do, So can anybody tell me how wide i should set the prongs so my Bottom now #### fletching will not catch. I shoot Acc with 2 3/4 fletchings and Navigators with 1 1/4 quick spins on

Hi John,
I shoot an infinite on my bow and they are superb. I have the rest set soft so when the arrow is nocked, the rest drops down and when I draw back the weight of the arrow gets less and the rest cocks up. As you know there is no "paradox" with a compound bow, so when you release, the arrow pushes the rest down and is in "free flight" before the rest comes up again. Two prong rests are great for big alloys with broadheads and long feathers! Why do you want 2.3/4" fletchings on ACC's anyway? Perhaps the marks on your fletchings are because your rest is too hard, try reducing spring pressure, or adjusting nocking point for a start, but I don't think "2prong rest"is the answer.

Thanks Bald Eagle I shall try reducing the spring tension. I will try the two prong one tomorrow now that i have swapped it round, if that does not work out i will go back to the original Launcher and do what you say.

I agree with bald eagle, the problem is most likely spring pressure or nock height. I set the bottom nocking point about 3mm above square, and set the spring tension so that it's just enough to hold the arrow up at rest.

Indoors I use the snake tounge blade that GK supply, but use the carbon arm outdoors - I think you have to but these as an extra, but they don't cost much.

As bald eagle said, unless you're using fat arrows with big fletchings the prong-type launcher is worse than useless. The big problem is in getting the prongs rotated to exactly the same point.

Adam

Thank Adam i am off to archery as soon a the post comes just waiting for my new Amber Release aid to come. I will proberly put my original launcher back on the rest and set the spring tension lighter. i have got it on no 10 at the moment which is a bit stiff. I allways thought that if my laucher on the rest went down a bit it would alter where the arrow hits the target, i must have it wrong.
Thanks John

Hi Bald eagle i have put my brass cabon launcher back on my rest and set the spring tension to no 2 or 3 which is a lot lighter and it seems to work,
My New Amber release aid came with the postman this morning so i have been off to archery to try it out.
Having got use to it from my Cascade 8 which i was shooting with out the loop on and it anchors in the same position which is great Just have to get used to pressing my thumb instead
of releaseing it .I have left it how it come so far with the 3 finger and the same tension springs.
Just altered the thumb release,
It Shoots great just like Simon said at Custom Built Archery as he has shot it yesterday and said he was in love with it,not bad for a dealers remark ay!
Thats where i bought it from Custon built archery, that is where i bought my Alligiance from also they are Great people and can not do enougth to help you.
If I was you I would get One they are Great!
Good Luck John

Hi John,
Thanks for your info, Imight just pop down to c.b.a.next week and have a look, I know Tony and Simon very well, they have always been very helpful with advice on equipment in the past and I hear the new shop in Guisborough is doing very well. Glad too that you've sorted your problem with your rest.
