dlock without knock. advisable or not.

A while ago I bought some dlock tightening pliers. But when I use them I notice that the centre section isn't really big enough to fit a string knock (brass thingy) as well at the plier in the width available. They appear to make a dloop of such a size that the arrow knock is a good fit between the D without a string knock.

This begs the question how suitable is it to use just a dlock for anchoring/positioning the arrow.

My concerns would be movement and would the D catch the sides of the arrow knock (I think the latter is less of an issue).

Does anyone do this or recommend for or against it?

Instead of using brass nocks try a good serving string, set your nockpoints out first then tie on the d-loop.
