| I use a finger sling. I previously used a wrist sling, but it hurt my fingers too much, and I get on better with the finger sling, so that is what I have stuck with. I use one that has two rubber rings with a leather strap, as one that is made of cord with plastic sliders kept loosening, and my bow didnt like landing on the cam in a muddy field!

| I use a wrist sling. In theory the finger sling should work better, but I had a tendency to grab the bow after the shot. Switching to the wrist sling has stopped me doing that. I've also found that a bow sling works alright for me when shooting compound. It doesn't work for me at all on recurve, though. |

Switching to the wrist sling has stopped me doing that. QUOTE] i did quite the opposite! with a wrist sling i found that i was grabbing the bow and not letting it go freely because the pivot point was at the wrist, it felt like the bow was going to 'fall out of my hands' as it dropped onto the sling. i made a fingersling from some old cord and decided to give it a try when practising out the garden and it made an immediate difference. I think just because of the knowledge there is something in front of the bow thats going to stop me dropping it,i let it roll onto it without grabbing it on loose. they are cheap enough only a few £ each, for less than £10 inc pnp you can get a finger and a wrist or sling/hook type and try them out, see what suits you best ![]()

| Mine is a Wist/Bow Sling, Length of Climbing Rope tied to the Bow, Just pass my hand through, I have tried Finger Hand and Wrist/bow, think it is personal preference, use what you feel most comfortable with.

| When it comes to using a wrist sling, finger sling or whatever, it really boils down to your own personal preference. Some people will say that this happened when they used this, or that the opposite happened etc etc... The best thing i can suggest is pop along to your local supplier and ask to try out the various different options available, and then go with what feels the best and most secure, as there are various options available. the one i use now is a strap that is round my wrist and goes between the index and middle fingers around the bow and clicks back into the wrist strap. I use it becasue i like the feel of it, as the finger sling on thumb and finger felt "weird" |

| I have known archers that use both, at the same time.

| I made myself a hybrid wrist/finger sling once (strap goes around the wrist, cord runs between index and middle finger and then loops over the thumb). It wasn't that bad, although I prefer my normal finger sling to it. However, I've not tried a dedicated wrist sling yet but next time I need to order some things then I'll probably add one of those into the order. Ben p.s This was all on recurve, not compound, but they're much of a muchness in that respect. |

| I used a wrist sling for several years and it worked fine. However there was a tendancy for the bow to rotate a little to the left as it rolled forward. I moved to a finger sling (thumb/forefinger) and found I had a tendancy to grab the bow. Now I still use the finger sling but curl the three unused pinkies up leaving only my thumb and forefinger extended. I find this works very well and no tendancy to grab. I used to make my sling from a very long boot lace, tied into a loop. One larks foot knot onto forefinger, then grab bow and second larksfoot onto thumb. HOWEVER I now shoot a Nexus and find the throat is so small there is too much slack in the loop after the second larksfoot and so I shoot a shop bought one.
