Availability for 2008 Hoyts and Bowtechs

I've been shooting compound for about 3 months with a 2006 Protec 4000 with wheel and a half cams and a 29" draw length.( I sourced the bow cheaply from ebay America)

I'm getting on with it ok but know that it's not exactly the ideal bow for me ( i need a 27.5" draw and definitely something faster for outdoors as my setup is pretty slow and we get plenty of wind in Devon and Cornwall where i will be shooting.

So i'm looking for a new 2008 bow : initially i was thinking another Hoyt maybe the Vantage X7 , but recently have been reading good reports on some of the Bowtechs (Allegiance and Guardian) , the new 109th looks interesting also.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will take for supplies of the above mentioned bows to come through? I'm looking for a 50-60 pound 27.5 " draw , oh yes and a left hander .

from what I understand left handers are always the last to arrive and tend to be in shorter supply.

However, apart from colour there is no difference between a 2007 Guardian and a 2008 Guardian. In fact the smoke flame 2007 and the grey swirl one in 2008 (I forget the name) are the sam ecolour with different name.

Left handed Bowtechs will hit the shelves sooner this year I'm led to believe. I'm waiting for my Airborne 101 in camo to arrive any day now!!

That would be the firestorm.

There is another choice that you should look into before you spend your hard earned cash. The Protech is a good bow so what you should consider is changing the limbs and cams on the bow you have, a pair of XT 2000 limbs and replace the wheels for faster cams, might well turn out to be cheaper than a new bow.

He will have to replace limbs, cams and string and cables.
It will not be cheap (even if he manages to get the limbs and cams).
A new bow is more expensive but ALOT less hassle.
The upside is that you can take a new bow back if things go pear shaped but if you create some sort of Frankenstein monster they wont want to know!!

Buying new limbs, cams, strings and cables would work out in the region of about £450! It's always cheaper to E-bay it and get a new one.
