trapdoor rests

anyone have any ideas where i might be able to purchase a trapdoor rest by black gold please, have tried countless pro shops in the U.S but most of them seem to only stock left handed ones, any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Indy,

I assume you have looked on Montana Balck Gold website etc.
They have an e-mail address and a list of retailers.
Stocking only left hand models sounds very unusual. I don't suppose that means they have sold out of the right hand models and haven't bothered to restock. I read once that there was a problem with the rest, pivots breaking or something.
I assume also that it is the idea of no bits sticking out that is the attraction.

hiya geoff, the attraction is no strings attached to cables and an easy set up, a couple of club members has them which they got off ebay, i have tried the website but it keeps coming up under construction, think i have just about searched every possible shop i can access on the net but most who do sell it are all lefties, lol still i may get lucky, so are you coming to try broadlands xmas shoot in december?

Trapdoor rest

The reason you can not find a rest is they are not made any more by the company. If you want one I have a trapdoor R/h in good condition PM me If you want it.

They are very good and archery_mum uses one for indoor When we heard they were going out of production we bought a couple of spares from Lancaster archery. I think Bowhunterssuperstore.com also had some left.

She must have put 3000+ arrows through her rest without a problem.

Watch_ Man, it is good to hear that the rest is lasting well. Perhaps the information I read was based on high recoil hunting bows or maybe an uprated version was produced after the problems were discovered.

Geoff

I think you are correct. I have read something similar. Wendy uses hers with care and its well looked after, always dried off after rain etc. The spares are sometimes swapped with the main rest to make sure they all perform roughly the same.

It is a very effective drop away rest and she gets excellent results with it. Her last WRS FITA 18 was a 570 a couple of weeks ago.
