| What do others think? Marcus, ASW, anyone Shooting the Compound Bow for Fita I just followed this link from the coaching course thread and I have so far only read one page and I think I disagree with most of it. I would be interested in what everyone else thinks.

| I think Matt Cleland has accomplished a great deal in compound competition and that you should have more respect for his point of view. |

| Having watched and listened to Matt at the weekend, he talks a lot of sense. He didn't say anything that we didn't know already (well in some cases), and he said it with no frills. Talked straight, told it like it was. And pleasantly. One message I took away from his session was, set your bow up, tune it for groups (in as short a time as possible) and go and shoot the thing. You don't get points for fiddling. Oh, and he got across to me with clarity what other people haven't managed to explain in thousands of words. So all in all, I would listen to him, and respect what he has to say.

| Looks OK the only thing of note was the foot position I prefer a more open stance.

| Some comments Deflex vs Reflex: Bit simplistic and ignores that for many people reflex hold better and require less front weight to achieve neutral balance Limbs pocket angle: This is a personal preference. Decreasing letoff by making cable thicker: Interesting, will look into Stance: the diagram looks the wrong way around. Other than that pretty good. He has equipment preferences, and that's OK, we all do. I think anyone following this would end up pretty good, but they would need to know what bits to focus on. Pictures would be good. Certainly one of the better internet articles I have read. ![]()

| Yeah the foot positioning confused me. Interesting indeed I'll print it out & hand it round at the club for opinions

| I liked the "Three outcomes of a shot-" It's as vivid as being there shooting that arrow!! More than that, it is very helpful because of its simple clarity. I could almost pass it on at the cluib without a script. ![]() |

| As I said at the start, I had only read the first page when I posted this, as I wanted to know how valid others thought it was. It was the deflex/ reflex and limb pocket angle that I wasn't too sure about to start with (sounded a little like a particular manufacturer's point of view). Having now read it all, it is probably only the first page that wound me up. I think the foot positioning suffers from some page formatting, as the numbers are way over to the right. I think it has provoked an interesting debate. gtek.....don't get so defensive. I don't know the guy's reputation and we are all allowed our opinions.
