Size of yellow when using a scope

I could be missing something obvious here as I am very new to compound bows, so please bear with me

I was under the impression that a sights scope would increase the size of the target area. However, when I look through my scope - through the peep, it is no different to the normal view I get from looking at the target with just my eyes. However, if I look through the scope without using the peep, the target / yellow looks massive.

Am i suppose to see an enlarged yellow or a normal sized yellow? and if normal, what's the point of the scope? or does this have something to do with the peep size?

BTW, I'm using a .75 lens.

I'm happy as it is, it just came about as we were talking about disadvantages / advantages of a magnified scope.

Thank you for your help.

You should see the same size image off the bow or on it . Make sure that you are only looking through the Peep and not using both eyes. You may have a dominant eye that is not looking through the peep and scope.

think of the peep as a backsight as per gun - its an alignment aid in that respect rather than a magnification aid. That plus the round body of the scope - if you align peep, body, center circle/dot, you should be aiming consistantly ( not to mention bow torque, hand position or scope bubble here ).

You can also go down the route of adding 'clarifiers' to the peep which 'may' have some small magnification as well. i thought of doing this then went with the gensis instead that you can adjust, rather than add clarifiers.

When we shoot sunday we can have a play around with different peep/circle/bodies - it may be that the Scope/lense you have just isnt right for you.
