Scope Lens

I was wondering if you guys and gals can help.
When I look through my scope, the image that I see is blurred. Is this normal? Or do you folks out there see a clear image of the target?
I thought of buying a new lens but I don’t want to waste my money if this dose not helps.
Thanks in advance
wymkof

You may want to try a clarifier peep. The Superball peep allows you to change the middles for different apertures without removing the peep, there are also a range of clarifiers available. I would suggest you talk to Quicks as you are more likely to get a sensible answer from them regarding the specification.

They do have disadvantages, especially for outdoors, however indoors you may find the correct peep clarifier and lens combination gives you a clear picture.

Also take a look at the manufacturers website - Super Ball Peep Sights

Two questions:

Are you using a peep? If so is it small enough....the smaller the peep the clearer the image.

Why do you want to see a clear image? It can encourage overaiming....just line up the peep, scope body and either a large dot (my preference) of a large circle.

GeoffT thanks for that. I do use a peep sight. I just thought that the image had to be clear when you look through the lens! As you say that it might cause overaiming. I will leave it alone and practice with the set up of peep, scope body and ring.

The clarity appears to depend upon, the strength of the lens (ie diopters), the distance from target and the size of the peep hole.

Outdoors at distance most combinations appear to focus fine. At 20yds though, things are different. The greater the magnification goes, the more blurred it becomes. The smaller the peep size the sharper it becomes.

With a large peep hole and hi magnification it is usually blurred. With a small peep hole and low magnification its usually sharp.

The problem you may find though, is indoors the lighting isn't always so good and if your peep hole becomes too small you may not easily see the target.

I have tried a number of different scopes/lenses and it's always been blury. When I got my new bow I was confused to discover that the target appeared even more unfocused. It had a larger peep than my regular bow.

It is something you get used to, I shoot using a ring and so aim by bringing it in sync with all the colour rings of the target.
