HCA SpeedForce shot at 426FPS

HCA have just announced the 2008 SpeedForce bow for 3D shooters. There is a thread on Archery Talk about it and one tester has shot it at 426FPS. The manufacturer however is only claiming 352FPS with zero recoil and zero vibration. It looks a little bit like a cross between a mathews and Bowtech.

Yup and having seen what their stryker cross bow at 400+fps can do I pity those 3D targets. Also the heat generated by the target stopping the arrows causes the hot melt holding the piles in to melt and you will probably find them some 20 yards further on and not to mention the fun in getting the arrow out if you shoot one into a coiled boss

In a very candid lecture that I was lucky enough to attend recently, a well known compound bow manufacturer explained some of the industry secrets, one of which was outstanding bow speed.
Based on the principal that many archers are impressed with very high bow speeds, many manufacturers set up one of their bows specially to produce test results showing very high fps. (Cant tell you details - its a secret and I would have to kill you) The setup required causes the bow to be very unstable and you would never actually shoot it "for real" other than as a test to show high speed.

Not everything that glisters is golden

Would this mean a revision of the 'Bouncer' rule becoming the 'Back danglers'.
When the Compound first started they had to change the rules because of the overshoot....

Probably not, and it took them weeks to train the Gorilla to pull the thing back
