40/50 or 50/60

just thinking of buying a new bow. at present I shoot a 50/60 lb bow set at around 52lbs. so is it better to buy a bow of a lower poundage set to its max or to buy the higher poundage set down low.
I know I will never go over the 52lb draw and I shoot target and field.

I was told that compounds shoot better when at or near max weight. I can't say from experience whether that is correct or not. However my booklet that came with the Allegiance states "All bows perform best at peak weight."
Perhaps that applies to all of their bows, or all bows full stop.

Personally I would get the 50-60lb one if you want to shoot 52lb. That way you will get that weight for sure and also if you lose poundage due to string stretch you won't be stuck too low.
I use to shoot 49# when I was a junior and still used 50-60lb bows. Shot alright.
