| A wrist release gives a lower reference under the jaw. Could be useful at 90m. Indoors that is less important. There was a thread on this recently. If I remember correctly, ASW had the different styles all about equal;it was correct use that was important. From my own experience, I know that correct use is vital. The older versions of wrist releases, tended to have light triggers and some had long travels. That can sometimes lead to anticipation. I fell into that trap and a stiff trigger helped cure that. Changing from wrist to hand held meant that the change over from old technique to the new one was more successful as the two were then very different and easier to keep separate, so I don't slip back into bad habits. (Still not sure if a wrist is better than a hand job??? ) |

| I prefer a wrist release. As Geoff says they can have a log travel and the pressure that you put on the trigger can cause the head of the release to move when the trigger is pulled. I have set mine so that it only needs the slightest touch to set it off. So there is very little movement caused trigger pressureand very little trigger travel so no anticipation. I don't put my trigger finger anywhere near the trigger until I am anchored. I park that trigger finger on the 'D' loop until I anchor.

| Hand release Well I'm new to compound too (and archery) and I got the Carter Chocolate Lite and I love it. It feells nice in the hand has 5 (I think) different springs to adjust trigger resistance and a easy to adjust screw for travel. BUt I would guess releases are personal choice so try some out first - for example both me and my mate thought we would like the four finger version but after trying went for the three finger version.

| Hello New here so still finding my way around. You seem to be doing very well. I have been into anything that shoots, no pun intended, since I was 10 years old. No guns now so it likes like bows are on the go. I have used a compound in my garden and over my friends fields for years but was thinking of joining my local club, Panther Bowhunters as 3d and field target seems to grab me. I did a small amount of olympic style for a short while but love being outdoors |
