New To Compound

Hi all i'm new to shooting a compound does anyone have any ideas on a good beginning score to aim for on a portsmouth target at 20 yards....

My 1st portsmouth with a wheelie bow was 549 back at the AIUK birthday weekend..... the start of the slide to the darkside

thanks tracey i shot last night for the first time and loved it ache like hell today but will get use to it..... going to shoot 5 dozen later and see what i can score aiming for 500 anything higher will be a bonus

I should add I'd been shooting recurve for 18 months then

I'm gonna try a portsmouth today using a b/t release aid

look at the AIUK winter league scores, they will give you an idea, but as mentioned 540 is a good start, if you can regularly get above 550 this winter you will be doing well, you may suffer with some wild shots at first, they are the ones that hurt your score when you start with compound.

Why don't you shoot a few Scores to see where you are and then progress from there. You can't really choose a score to aim for, until you know where you are up to.
