Cartel Triple ACE spine equivalent

I have decided to take the plunge and buy some Cartel triples for my soon to be Hoyt Ultratech. It will be shot with a draw length of about 27.5 to 28" and arrow length of 28" @58lb. The nearest ACE would be a 470, what is the equivalent triple I need to buy?

Yep, and I would ignore it.
We found in testing (with a few 1340+ shooters) that at 28" 500's did not group well over 52#.
Once we started changing to 400's and 300's the groups were vastly improved, plus drift was less.
I use to shoot 300's at 28" 60# with a UltraElite XT3000 Spiral
My wife shot 400's at 26" 60# With an Ultratec XT3000 Spiral

Rednock on Saggi posted this from Archers Advantage. Don't know how accurate it is.

Arrow Spine
300 394
400 435
500 504
600 525
700 601
800 664
900 742
1000 841
1100 970

Marcus,

I am curently shooting (outdoor setup) 29" 500 triples from my Bowtech Old Glory, binary cams at about 54lbs. I am hovering around the 1300 mark. I guess from what you are saying I sould try some 400s or even 300s. I could shorten them to 28" and still be comfortable on the arrow rest.

I would try some 400's at that poundage for sure. I jumped from 1280-1300 up to 1330-1340 after changing from 540 Navs to 300 Triples.
I coach a Cadet archer who shoots 400's at 28" 56# and a few weeks ago he shot a 1332 Mens with a 326 at 90m.
The stiffer spines work.

I dug out Limbwalker's take on the Triple spines from that same thread on the Saggi board:

800.....................735 (735)
900.....................840 (840)
1000...................900 (900)

I didn't have access to the 500 and 600 series, and the 1100 and 1200 series were too short (under 28") to test on my spine tester!

Please keep in mind these are static spine measurements from a select group of Cartel triple shafts that were purchased by the dealer approx. 1 year ago. I have no way to know if the current batches of Cartel's will spine the same, or if the dynamic spines will reflect the static measurements.

Again, I am surprised to see the 300 and 400 series so far apart...
Which is a bit different to the Archer's Advantage figures...

From the look of that chart Rik the 300 triple seems the best bet for me. At least too stiff is better than too weak with a compound.

I’ve just had a look at Archers Advantage. They have updated their data for triples since the Saggi post.

Shaft - Spine
300 – 424
400 – 525
500 – 554
600 – 623
700 – 665
800 – 798
