They prolly don't go much over 50# anyhoo Jerry & I'm certain that Easton can make a pretty good shaft that has a join (though to be fair, I'd prolly join at the first 10" & have a 20" main body, or even a 5" fletched section & a 5" pile section, can keep 'em nice & safe inna box)

I have seen too many pictures of broken arrows pushed through bow hands of archers to even consider a join in the shaft of an arrow. As an engineer I can tell you that it's a REALLY BAD idea. A join will concentrate the stress in the area of the join. The join itself may be strong but that means that the flex of the arrow when it is being shot will be taken up by the portions of the shaft either side of the join and that is nothing compaired to the stress it will under go when hitting the target.
Even at low poundages you are asking for trouble.

How about if the screw thread was reinforced, unless we got hold of one of those arrows we may never know.

Besides, it doesn't matter what th' arrow does when it hits th' target, imo if it breaks into a thousand bits, so much the better, people can't achully see what a poor shot it was, just th' carnage of th' thing

But what if it hangs together but with a fine crack or flaw that you don't notice until you try to shoot that arrow again and the arrow breaks driving the sharp end into your arm.
