Oh one thing I forgot to add to this. Unless your sight allows adjustment of the scope horizontal level independant of the sight track. You need to also consider how level the bubble is set in the scope body.

The sight track needs to run parallel with the riser else as you change distances you will need to make horizontal adjustments which is a right pain. I have found the bubble settings on cartels to be along way out. If your sight allows the scope to be adjusted without affecting the track, this won't be a problem. But if the only means of adjusting the scope bubble is by adjusting the track itself it becomes important that the scope bubble is set as close to horizontal as possible.

I don't know what Petron use these days, but I once bought one and the lenses were not multicoated I got glare in side lighting and offthe spots our club uses indoors. I got shot of it fairly pronto. I have used, scopes by merlin, cartel small, cartel xpert, booster and petron. Petron was the only uncoated one and I could not recommend it. I like the booster the most, but optically it appears no better than the cartels that are half the price.

Thanks for all the advice

As it happens i was offered a great deal on a barely shot TT2 which was too good to miss (Cheers Tarkwin! ) and was also offered a good deal on a beiter scope 2nd hand.

I appreciate you all taking the time to post
