Ultra Elite or Pro Elite (setup)

Hoyt shooters need an advise, what is the best setup for ultra elite or proelite for draw length 27.5? I am planning to sell my conquest 4 and get a hoyt target bow for a change, thanks...

If you go the ProElite then the XT2000 would be the go.
If you go the UltraElite I would go the XT3000 limbs.
Go with the C2's if you know your draw length.

Just curious as to why those suggestions? why not cam1/2+ and those specific limb lengths?

For the cam 1/2+ v c2 debate I can give a reasonable answer. If you know your draw length and don't need the adjustability of the cam 1/2+ then you may as well get a faster cam with the same DFC and sacrifice the adjustability that you won't use anyway. They should both feel the same to draw as they are designed to have the same DFC, but the C2 will be faster (by around 5/6FPS I believe over the same c1/2+).

The choice of cams i.e. cam 1/2 against C2 is more about feel than anything else, the difference in speed is meaningless particularly for target shooting, and anything else come to that. I can't see any reason for not using adjustable cams, it's very usefull to be able to experiment with draw length. The choice between pro or ultra elite is a personel one, each has their own fan club. I like the Prolelite and with 3000 limbs and cam 1/2 + it would be my ideal bow.

The draw length is not that long. So speed is a consideration.
The brace heights on the 2 bows will be similar.
The ProElite XT3000 will just be giving away too much speed for no gain.
If you are after aaxle length then go the UltraElite XT3000 and get axle and speed as well.

If you know your draw exactly then the C2 is the much better choice because you get 10fps for nothing. That extra speed will serve you well in windy conditions.

Got a second-hand ProElite some time ago with Spiral cams. Are these the precursor of the C2?

How much of a pain is it to change out cams on a Pro- and UltraElite?

It's not too bad, you may lose or gain poundage though, but I did do a spiral -> C2 conversion recently with success and the poundage was similar.

Why change them? The spiral cam is the best Hoyt ever made IMO.
