theyre available in a number of places now (not least the GNAS website now theyve finally been officially released) - Grand National Archery Society Ltd.

if you visit our website (link in my sig) i have done some (hopefully) easy to use round and classification 'cards' in the 'resources' section

well no because i've only received archeryuk this issue as stated in another thread the "box" wasn't ticked for me to get it.

i know ignorance isn't an excuse but not getting the publication could be a mitigating curcumstance i believe

How does it leave the longbowers feeling? I have already, without being on my best form of last season, put in three scores that are "first class" under the new system (last year I managed one, and one that was one point off). We had a long discussion about it all this afternoon and I think those of us who shoot ambitiously rather than for fun, feel very mixed up about it. There is definitley a feeling of having been deprived of some recognition we could have had last year, and at the same time a scepticism about the awards on this year's scores. Probably a good thing for newcomers though, as third will be more immediately accessible, perhaps keeping people more engaged?

I think we need to concern ourselves with the present and forget the 'what ifs' and 'if onlys'! The scores have been set, its now up to us to put the effort in to achieve them... happy shooting to all

Isnt the big part of the longbow problem the lack of numbers? For any meaningful statistical analysis you need a realistically sized sample. Without enough scores to base the calculations on, the results have a wider margin of error

I would say that for longbows we have just performed the second stage of a process. The original levels were indeed set from a small sample, and it was always suggested that they would need revision in the short term. Whether because of the classifications or not, we were in a position to take a larger sample, and this has resulted in the revision. Perhaps in a few years we may be able to make a larger sample still, and produce an even more refined table.
