Can bits to make up shoot through cables be bought?

I am interested in converting one of my bows to shoot through as an experiment. Shoot through cables I have seen appear to have curved aluminium "things" to split the cables up. does anyone know if these can be purchased from anywhere?

Merlin sold them at one time but I think they discontinued the idea. I have some you can play with if you wish. I shot a couple of bows for a while with shoot through cables but I gave up on it because of clearance problems. Also it only works with twin cams not cam 1/2.

regards

I've also seen them replaced with a short length of arrow, with a nock in either end!

If not you can make up a Kudlacek system - that requires arrow cut offs to be able to space the cables out at about limb width.

Arrow shafts with nocks in each end gives you the choice of width between cables should you need to adjust them.

I'm using a shoot-through system and I'm using the arrow shaft/nocks splitters.

These are the cable splitters on my bow;

If you're interested on how the rest of the cable system looks there are some more photos on my flickr page.

Hope this helps.

The biggest thing I dont understand is (particularly on a single cam bow) what keeps the main cable shoot through window at 90 degrees to the arrow. I would have thought that as the bow is drawn the tension would cause the twist in the cables to spin it around hence the aperture for shooting the arrow through will reduce and ultimately have insufficient clearance.

The control cables will have less of a problem because the axle anchor points should stop the twisting. (having said that I have seen Y cables with twists in them before now)

Can soemone explain how the cables are firstly set at exactly 90 degrees to the arrow and secondly how they stay there through the shot cycle.

Sorry for the size of the photo, it's not really clear on the smaller versions.

If you look at the left hand side you can see that the control cables that run down from the top axle pass INSIDE the splitting shooting string, and it's this that stops the shooting string from rotating and closing down the clearance.
