We went to Wales Archery on Saturday and Julie tried:-

Bowtech Guardian
Bowtech Commander
Bowtech Allegiance (2006 Model)
Hoyt 737
Hoyt Ultra Elite XT2000.

All of which were miles better than the vipertec. The Allegiance was favorite for a while and as soon as she tried the last bow (the Guardian) the decision was made.

So she is now the proud owner of a smoke grey(?) Bowtech Guardian. She thought that the vibration dampaning was more effective on the Guardian than on the Allegiance. Also , it seems, Bowtech no longer do the Allegiance in the 40 to 50Llb draw weights, and she really did want a brand new Bow.

I tried all the bows as well (I had to do something while waiting for her to make up her mind over which colour to have) and I think I would have chosen the Allegiance out of the list she tried.

But would I swap my Switchback XT for the Allegiance ?

One day maybe (but it would be the same day that George W Bush receives the Nobel Peace Prize).

But once again thank you everyone for your advice.

Best Regards

yeh yeh, mathews, shame she couldn't have waited to try the new DXT, lighter and faster, and probably more forgiving.

We discussed her coming across to the mathews camp but we are both fairly sure that her draw length is going to change over the next few months (by more training in using her back muscles more efficently etc). And the one disadvantage that mathews have is in having a set draw length.

So in this case I'm afraid the Bowtech did have a slight advantage over the mathews.(I shall now go and put on my hair shirt and chastice myself for uttering such heresies)

I don't score well enough to write a book.
Heaps and stacks I don't know, still learning. But it's my job to find out as much as I can to advise my customers better.
Also I have no respect for archers who keep secrets. That doesn't help anyone's archery out.
