You should receive a target list before the competition. Register when you get there, check target list if you didn't receive one. Look for a queue of people holding bows - that's usually a good indication that kit checking is underway ![]() Chat to people, shoot your best and have fun. And don't forget the raffle tickets... Whatever you do, on no account should you GO OUT AND PHONE YOUR ACCOUNTANT HALFWAY THROUGH SIGHTERS.....

| Sometime after bow checking and the Judges saying a few words. Usually preceeded by a whistle or other such noise.

| when you get there Hi, Depends on the level of the competition you have entered. You are right about the early stages. Get a form fill it in or let club sec do it. Pay. Turn up on the right day. Early is best, allow time to register find out target number from the list, set up your space for gear etc, Check your number/letter on the target and be aware that this can determine the order in which you shoot and which side of the boss in Worcester round. Establish where you will be standing on the shooting line: sometimes a good idea to ask the other people on your target what they prefer. At higher level events there can be inspection to ensure your bow/ arrows are within the rules. At some levels you may be asked to take drug test. About 5 mins before sighters is an assembly when details are announced by officials. They usually explain;who are the judges and lady paramount, first aid, toilets, mobile phone requests and clarify rules of shooting when necessary. The last announcement is usually to say that sighters will begin at......... Then you compete. At the end of competition, scores are signed by archer and target captain, gear is put away, raffle prizes are won (or not) scores are added and then the prizes are awarded. Clap and go home. I will have missed something out so I am leaving space for others to add their comments. All the best Geoff |

| buying raffle tickets, drug testing, queue's of people....umm sounds fun as long as you get in the right order... i.e NOT buying drugs, testing queue's of people about what they are queueing for....only to find that you have arrived on the wrong day and they are queueing for tickets at a bingo night. thanks folks....
