Hi, I shot two fingers with a recurve for many years,20 lbs per finger. I tried two under rather than one each side of the arrow. Less pinching that way.I used the second and third fingers as it gave a reference like the three finger grip.It certainly worked. My personal choice for tab has always been as thin as I could get away with. For me, that made holding the string easier because the thin leather gave a nice sharp angle to get the string into. Thick leather or several layers always felt comfortable but the angle was lost which meant more work holding the string into the curve of the tab. There are probably as many good reasons for using a glove but I have never used one so can't comment

I was thinking that I could get away with less angle on the tab because of the letoff after all more angle means more angle for the string to come out of on loose.

more angle I think I see what you mean. Two fingers as opposed to three fingers will change the angle of the string over the tab from top edge to bottom edge. It would be more like a release aid in that sense. When you talked about the glove, I was thinking of the angle of the fingers round the string in order to hold it until the release. It's so easy to get the wrong idea, I find. Two fingers together should give fewer variables as the space between become irrelevant.

Sorry Geoff I did not make myself clear. I was thinking that the let off would make it easier to hold the string without the angle around the string that a thin tab leather gives.
