| RE: Compound shooters here I mainly shoot recurve, but get my compound out pretty regularly. It's a 2001 Hoyt Aspen with LX Pro limbs -- chosen because it was cheap, available and I can use either fingers or a release. It's got a shoot-through system on, which makes sense for twin-cam bows -- I haven't had to get the timing adjusted for over a year now. I use a Spot-Hogg Cascade 10 release and also have a Tru-Ball BT Gold 3 that I use just for training -- can't seem to get along with it when I'm shooting for a score. The sight/scope I use is an Arten Midas -- nicely built and reliable, though not good looking. It's alright for target shooting, but too fiddly if you need to change settings frequently. Rests: NAP Quicktune 1000 for release shooting, Cavalier Freeflyte for finger shooting. I'm toying with the idea of buying a new compound. I'm kinda leaning towards Merlin at the moment. |

| RE: Compound shooters here 2003 (I think) Hoyt Razortec, 45lbs draw, 65% let off. Cascade 10 release aid (to try to get over the target panic) or a Carter Just Cuz (when I'm feeling confident). ACC arrows, with some vanes I can't remember the name of (they're curly rigid plastic..) Beiter long rod, Surelok sight, 0.75 scope. Think that's it... Thinking of changing my bow right now, but I've got to sell my old Sapphire first. The Razortec is a flightly little beast and I'm not sure we're getting on! |

| RE: Compound shooters here I also occassionally shoot a compound; I don't use it much outdoors, only shot one round with it this year!, but It gets used a lot more indoors during the winter months. It's a Merlin Max 3000, 37" Beiter Centraliser, Spigarelli drop away rest, Sureloc challenger sight and some cheap cartel scope. I use a TruBall BT Gold Ultra 3 release and whatever arrows get leftover/rejected from my recurve sets.

| RE: Compound shooters here I have not shot compound before, but I am introducing it into my club at Uni for the heck of it. This nice guy at my club at home sold me his old Browning Diana, soft case, 8 ACC arrows and a cheap flipaway rest for only £40 I am going to purchase a release aid and sight tomorrow. And maybe I'll ask the people at the shop nicely if they'll show me how to fire the damn thing ![]()
